Responsibilities
This role involves reading and interpreting wiring diagrams, as well as troubleshooting electrical systems on vehicles
The position requires custom designing for client orders, which may vary from straightforward to complex design changes
Read and interpret wiring diagrams for vehicle electrical systems
Troubleshoot and resolve issues in electrical systems on vehicles
Collaborate with the team to develop new product designs and improvements
Conduct on-vehicle testing, prototyping, and production support
Design wire harnesses and create detailed documentation
Utilize 3D design software such as SolidWorks and AutoCAD for product engineering
Convert older drawings to meet current industry standards
Use CAD systems to create part files, assemblies, and drawing files
Apply controls knowledge including Codesys software and IFM hardware/software
This person needs to be able to design electrical systems for street sweepers
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in mechanical, Electrical, or Mechatronics Engineering
2+ experience in electrical design/troubleshooting in a manufacturing environment
Proficiency in electrical system troubleshooting and design
Experience with 3D design software such as SolidWorks and AutoCAD
Familiarity with low voltage DC applications (12V, 24V systems)
Proficient in using diagnostic tools like multi-meters and test lights
Experience with ladder logic and function block programming
Preferred
Experience with heavy industrial equipment or automotive design is a plus, but if they've design harnesses and systems for other applications, or products, that could work
