They are seeking a Transit Tech to provide basic to intermediate-level mechanical repairs on transit buses, assist with preventative maintenance, and ensure a safe and clean work environment.

Responsibilities

Provides basic to intermediate-level mechanical repairs on transit buses as assigned by the supervisor
Remove and replace broken components on diesel/electric buses as assigned by the supervisor
Complete assigned work orders and submit them to the supervisor for approval. Complete all necessary training as required
Ensure work progress is approved before starting the next task
Assist FT technicians with scheduled preventative maintenance
Keep the work area safe and clean

Required

Demonstrated ability to maintain heavy-duty diesel vehicles
Troubleshoot and repair complex systems such as electrical and electronics systems
Troubleshoot and repair climate control systems
Troubleshoot and repair diesel engines and transmissions
Ability to use computers for diagnosis, parts look-ups and other tasks
Provide own tools
Submit to drug and alcohol testing in accordance with USDOT regulations
Heavy lifting
Work in confined spaces
Stooping
Kneeling
Standing on ladders and work platforms
Driving is a requirement of this position
Completion of a background investigation including a criminal background check
Confirmation of the credentials and employment history reflected in your application materials
