Manufacturing
Responsibilities
Maintaining and building relationships with existing or new suppliers
Selecting and onboarding new suppliers
Negotiating contracts
Mitigating long-term supply chain risks
Purchasing and sourcing materials
Analysis of opportunities for cost optimization
Working with production, engineering, and quality assurance teams to ensure optimal delivery times and quality standards are met
Evaluating supplier performance
Defining technical specifications
Developing sourcing strategies that align with company goals
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Business, Materials Management, or related field of study required
5 years of material management/purchasing experience required
Knowledge of procurement and inventory management principles
Excellent verbal & written communication skills
Strong problem solving and critical thinking skills
Demonstrated analytical skills with knowledge of data analysis tools (i.e. Excel) and reporting
Preferred
Previous experience in sourcing steel or castings in the metals market
Previous experience in a manufacturing environment
Previous experience in using SAP PLM, MM, and SD
