West Virginia University is seeking a Teaching Assistant Professor in the field of Computer Science and Cybersecurity. The successful candidate will focus on programming, data structures, algorithms, and cybersecurity education, providing hands-on lab support and practical experiences for students.

Higher Education

Responsibilities

Develop graduate level courses for in-class and online learning management systems (LMS) platforms such as Blackboard and Coursera
Provide hands-on lab support, including virtual machines, sandbox environments, cyber-range, simulation tools, and secure network setups to provide students with practical experience
Contribute to teaching and curriculum development in programming, data structures and algorithms, operating systems, databases, computer networks, software engineering, theory of computation, compiler design, computer organization, cybersecurity fundamentals, cryptography, ethical hacking, penetration testing, cyber defense, and computer incidence response

Required

Ph.D. degree in computer science, cybersecurity or a closely related field by the time of hire
Outstanding technical expertise
Proven, ongoing track record of teaching experience or potential to develop graduate level courses for in-class and online learning management systems (LMS) platforms such as Blackboard and Coursera
Equivalent experience in the private sector or national laboratories/institutes
