Children, Youth, & Family Services Supervisor (Ongoing)
NEOGOV is looking for a Children, Youth, & Family Services Supervisor to oversee a team of social caseworkers in El Paso County. This role involves supervising caseworkers, ensuring compliance with child protection laws, and leading efforts towards safe family reunification and permanency for children.

Responsibilities
Supervises assigned caseworkers, case services aides, and administrative support staff, including conducting unit meetings, ensuring work is performed in a timely and accurate manner, and assigning duties as appropriate. Conducts performance evaluations and motivates employees to achieve peak productivity and performance; participates in the hiring and disciplinary process
Communicates the mission of the unit; establishes and monitors the workflow of the unit and assigns applicable cases, assessments, services, and/or placement cases
Conducts and participates in staffing and consultations with caseworkers; meets with appropriate staff to discuss cases, treatment plans, problems, and issues and to address performance
Leads weekly unit meetings to discuss information; participates in DHS administrative meetings involving planning, decision-making, and management. Coordinates and facilitates staff training as needed
Participates in case-related staffing, court hearings, reviews, meetings, and family meetings; decides and recommends appropriate case plans and proceedings, as assigned
Ensures compliance with Federal, State, and County laws, outcome measures, rules, and regulations; reviews cases to ensure case plans are developed and implemented, as assigned
Reviews, edits, and/or approves unit correspondence and reports
Serves as a liaison to community professionals, clients, other agencies, the courts, and the public; responds to complaints and concerns
Collects, reports, and monitors team statistics, data, outcomes, and performance; approves and routes some financial requests
Performs other duties as required
Qualification
Required
Working knowledge of child protection laws, rules, and regulations
Working knowledge of intake and ongoing processes, procedures, and protocol
Working knowledge of Department of Human Services programs and protocol
Ability to efficiently plan, schedule, and organize
Ability to provide guidance, supervise, and train others; ability to objectively review and evaluate the performance and work of others
Ability to understand, interpret, and communicate laws, rules, regulations, policies, and procedures to staff
Ability to assess situations and make prudent and appropriate decisions; ability to apply conflict resolution and problem-solving skills
Ability to communicate and work effectively with co-workers, clients, other agencies, and the public. Ability to provide excellent customer service
Ability to use standard office equipment, including computer, fax machine, copier, and telephone. Proficiency with personal computers, databases, and software, such as Microsoft Office
Maintain regular and punctual attendance
Bachelor's degree or higher from a higher education institution with course work related to the job responsibilities of child welfare social caseworker as stated in Volume 7. Course work examples can include and are not limited to, the development of human behavior, child development, family intervention techniques, diagnostic measures, or therapeutic techniques
Three years of professional, internship, or volunteer work experience in a human service-related agency
Master's degree or higher in a social work or human behavioral sciences field; and, Two years of professional, internship, or volunteer work experience in a human services related agency may substitute for the required experience
Must possess and maintain a valid driver's license and proof of automobile insurance as stated within El Paso County's Personnel Policies Manual
Must obtain and maintain necessary certifications as applicable to position
Colorado State Child Welfare Supervisor Certification or the ability to successfully complete and pass initial examination within ninety days of enrollment
Must pass conditional post offer background investigation, including fingerprinting, motor vehicle check, and drug screen. College transcripts required prior to the date of hire
