Administrative Services Specialist-COBRA (On-site)

Benecon is seeking an Administrative Services Specialist primarily responsible for daily administrative tasks related to COBRA administration for participants and client groups. The role involves administering COBRA processes, providing customer service, and developing internal procedures related to COBRA administration.

Responsibilities

Administering the COBRA processes, including preparation, printing of notices, forms, correspondence, etc., and recording payments received in various spreadsheets/software systems
Monitoring, maintaining and processing correspondence and inquiries regarding COBRA, administration daily
Provide customer service for COBRA administration, including responding to inquiries; discussing such administration issues with clients, brokers, carriers and participants
Research questions as needed and provide prompt resolution independently or determine if upper level involvement is needed
Create and audit Administrative Participant reports
Prepare Administrative reports for company and clients
At the direction of the COBRA Operations Manager, develop internal administrative procedures that relate to all aspects of the COBRA administration process; maintain, update and implement these procedures
Audit payments and process monthly COBRA disbursements and refunds. Work closely with the Finance Division to ensure accurate processing across both departments
Create and maintain internal enrollment reports generated by the administrative services software/programs
Assist COBRA Operations Manager with renewals and new group set up
Assist groups and brokers with counting of employees (COBRA Counts) to determine subjectivity to COBRA
Complete special projects as assigned by the Administrative Services Director

Required

High school diploma or equivalent required
Requires knowledge of standard office procedures
Requires excellent data entry skills
Requires excellent attention to detail
Requires computer proficiency in Microsoft Office, specifically with Excel
Requires computer proficiency in COBRA, FSA, HRA and HSA Administration System
Requires computer proficiency in Salesforce
Requires excellent communication skills in both verbal and written format
Requires excellent customer service skills
Requires the ability to maintain detailed and accurate records
Requires above average problem solving, reasoning and organizational skills
Requires the ability to work on multiple projects and to shift priorities while adhering to strict federal and state timelines
Requires the ability to maintain strict adherence to confidentiality standards
Must be able to sit or stand and type utilizing computer for up to 90% of the workday
Must be able to talk on the phone

Preferred

COBRA, HRA, FSA, or HSA administration experience preferred, but not required
