Responsibilities

Perform internal coding audits and billing compliance reviews for physician and professional billing
Ensure adherence to CMS and third-party payer coding and billing regulations
Develop and deliver training and educational materials for providers and revenue operations teams
Communicate audit findings clearly to stakeholders and leadership
Analyze coding trends against national benchmarks and quality standards
Review work samples to ensure accuracy and compliance across billing and collections teams
Support internal and external audit requests and ensure audit documentation accuracy
Respond to billing compliance inquiries and escalate issues as appropriate

Qualification

Active professional coding certificationAuditing physician chartsProficiency with Microsoft ExcelEPIC billing softwareCPTICD-10 knowledgeAttention to detailCommunication skillsCollaboration skills

Required

High School Diploma or GED
Active professional coding certification (CPC, CCS, CPMA, CEMC, or COC)
Experience auditing physician charts using E/M guidelines
Strong background in professional/physician billing environments
Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
Ability to become proficient in EPIC billing software within six months
Strong attention to detail and understanding of billing quality review processes

Preferred

Experience educating providers and presenting audit findings
Familiarity with CMS scoring methodologies and payer guidelines
Strong working knowledge of CPT, ICD-10, and medical terminology
Ability to apply clinical documentation standards during audits
Excellent communication and collaboration skills
