Economic Mobility Graduate Intern

The National Community Reinvestment Coalition (NCRC) is seeking an Economic Mobility Graduate Intern to support economic mobility initiatives and assist over 700 member organizations across the United States. The role involves contributing to workforce development, entrepreneurship pathways, and economic self-sufficiency efforts for low-income and minority communities, while gaining hands-on experience in project management and policy analysis.

Responsibilities

Research entrepreneurship supports, labor market trends, public assistance programs, and workforce development models to inform program and policy strategies
Analyze federal and state policy, regulations, and guidance related to SNAP E&T, public benefits, workforce systems, and economic mobility initiatives
Support the development of advocacy materials and briefs focused on benefits cliffs, economic equity, funding for workforce and entrepreneurship programs, and financial inclusion
Assist with qualitative and quantitative data collection, synthesis, and visualization to support internal strategy and external reporting
Engage with NCRC member organizations to identify promising practices, collect insights, and support collaborative learning activities
Contribute to the planning and facilitation of virtual and in-person convenings, workshops, and listening sessions with community partners and stakeholders
Draft memos, literature reviews, case studies, and slide decks to support policy analysis, program development, and external communications
Participate in cross-departmental projects focused on community wealth building, racial equity, and inclusive economic development
Help coordinate project timelines, stakeholder communications, and internal documentation to support effective project management
Monitor federal and state workforce, small business, and safety net policy developments, and prepare concise updates and recommendations for the team

Required

Current graduate student in Public Policy, Public Administration, Economics, Business, Urban Planning, or a related field
Strong research and analytical skills, with the ability to synthesize complex information and present key insights clearly
Interest in workforce development, community development, public benefits programs, and economic mobility strategies
Strong written and verbal communication skills and comfort interacting with external partners
Ability to manage tasks, prioritize deadlines, and work independently and collaboratively
Proficiency with Microsoft Office and familiarity with data analysis tools or platforms
Commitment to racial and economic equity and enthusiasm for NCRC's mission
