Responsibilities

Spends majority of time using independent judgment making employment-related and business decisions, or effectively recommending such decisions, including product- and department-related strategies, hiring, promoting, disciplining, suspending, discharging, rewarding, or otherwise engaging in resolving Partner-related matters

Designs floral arrangements; regularly performs Representative and Specialist duties

Plans / coordinates / communicates the Corporate merchandising and marketing plan to the Store plan

Develops / trains future leaders in the School of Retail Management (SORM)

Prepares work schedules, orders product, controls inventory, monitors department budget / payroll

Orders product to maintain inventory; ensures availability of seasonal items

Promotes Floral events to maximize sales and profit

Exhibits passion for product and customer service; drives customer engagement for department

Achieves gross profit budget by preparing projections / forecasts, controlling inventory, managing / reducing costs, and ensuring the accuracy of invoices

Required

Minimum age 18 (mandatory)

Completion of School of Retail Management (SORM)

1+ years of experience in department / training or equivalent

Experience creating floral arrangements

Experience in leadership / management

Food Safety / SRS certification

Floral OJT

Knowledge of floral products and tools including types of floral products and their characteristics

Knowledge of floral availability including peak times, seasonal / logistical components of availability

Understanding of the relationship between availability to price / cost

Interpersonal and verbal / written communication skills

Computer skills, including MS Office (Word, Excel), and H-E-B systems

Ability to build, motivate, and maintain staff

Ability to manage multiple priorities and shift focus between tasks

Function in a fast-paced, retail environment

Continuously stand, walk, bend, reach, kneel, squat, reach overhead, and side to side throughout shift

Regularly work in cooler environment and in wet conditions

Occasionally lift and carry 40-50 pounds

Work extended hours and / or rotating schedules
