Automotive Sales Manager

O'Meara GMC is seeking an Automotive Sales Manager responsible for driving new and used vehicle sales performance and managing the sales team. This role focuses on ensuring an exceptional customer experience and executing dealership strategies to meet sales targets while maintaining compliance with standards.

Responsibilities

Lead, coach, and hold accountable a team of sales consultants to achieve daily, weekly, and monthly sales goals
Desk deals, structure transactions, and ensure optimal gross profit while maintaining customer satisfaction
Monitor and manage key performance indicators (KPIs) including close rate, gross per unit, units per salesperson, and CSI
Execute sales processes consistently (road-to-the-sale, follow-up, CRM usage)
Recruit, train, and onboard new sales consultants
Conduct regular one-on-ones, performance reviews, and daily sales meetings
Provide ongoing coaching on product knowledge, objection handling, and negotiation skills
Ensure a seamless handoff between Sales, BDC, and F&I
Handle customer escalations and resolve issues professionally and promptly
Maintain high CSI and online reputation scores
Partner with management to manage used vehicle inventory levels
Support pricing strategies based on market data and OEM guidance
Ensure vehicles are properly merchandised, lot-ready, and represented accurately online
Ensure adherence to dealership policies, OEM standards, and state/federal regulations
Maintain accurate deal documentation and CRM data
Collaborate with F&I to maximize product penetration while staying compliant

Required

Prior Automotive Sales Manager and Used Vehicle Sales Manager experience
Proven track record of achieving sales volume and gross profit targets
Strong desking, closing, and negotiation skills
Experience working with CRM systems and dealership software
Valid driver's license and acceptable driving record

Preferred

Experience in an OEM-franchise dealership. GMC experience a plus
Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret sales reports and KPIs
Bilingual (a plus, not required)
Strong understanding of GM incentive programs and GM Financial offerings
