1st Shift Maintenance Supervisor

As a 1st Shift Maintenance Supervisor, you will oversee the maintenance team, ensuring equipment and machinery function properly while coordinating maintenance activities to support production goals.

Responsibilities
Oversee and manage the daily operations of the maintenance department’s first shift, ensuring all equipment and facilities are in proper working condition
Develop and implement preventive maintenance programs to minimize equipment downtime and extend the life of assets
Coordinate with other departments to schedule maintenance activities and minimize disruption to operations
Supervise, train, and mentor maintenance technicians, providing guidance and support to ensure their professional growth and development
Monitor and manage maintenance budgets, ensuring cost-effective use of resources and adherence to financial targets
Ensure compliance with all safety regulations, policies, and procedures, promoting a culture of safety within the maintenance team
Continuously evaluate and improve maintenance processes and procedures to increase efficiency and effectiveness
Collaborate with management to develop long-term maintenance strategies and capital improvement plans
Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, equipment history, and inventory
Ensure safety, quality, and food safety by following company rules and standards, enforcing the requirements, and communicating violations or concerns to the leadership team
Qualification
Required
Minimum of 5 years of experience in maintenance management, preferably in a supervisory role
Strong knowledge of maintenance best practices, including preventive and predictive maintenance techniques
Excellent leadership and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively communicate with team members at all levels
Proficient in the use of computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS) and Microsoft Office Suite
Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple projects simultaneously
Knowledge of applicable safety regulations and procedures, including OSHA standards
Ability to read and interpret technical documents, such as blueprints, schematics, and equipment manuals
Ability to stand for extended periods, lift heavy objects, and work in a factory environment with exposure to various temperatures and noise levels
Must be able to stand, kneel, and lift/move up to 50 pounds
Preferred
Certification in a relevant trade or field (e. g., HVAC, electrical, plumbing) is preferred
Bachelor's degree in a related field, such as engineering or facilities management, is a plus
