MEP Project Engineer
Storm4 is a mission-driven engineering and construction organization focused on decarbonizing the built environment. They are seeking an MEP Engineer who will own MEP and HVAC design across complex retrofit and decarbonization projects, working directly with clients, contractors, and internal teams.
Responsibilities
Act as the single point of accountability for assigned projects
Lead MEP and HVAC design management from concept through completion
Manage schedules, budgets, workstreams, and design scope
Mentor junior engineers and coordinate with external MEP firms
Review and optimize mechanical, electrical, and control drawings
Perform site surveys to understand existing building operations
Analyze utility bills, EUI, and energy rates to identify savings opportunities
Develop energy conservation measures aligned with client financial goals
Perform calculations and simulations to model energy savings
Select equipment based on energy performance and constructability
Prepare construction budgets and financial models
Support the Construction Manager during execution
Review and approve shop drawings
Monitor post-completion performance and verify energy savings
Prepare technical documentation and concepts for proposals
Support business development efforts with engineering expertise
Participate in client meetings, presentations, and stakeholder coordination
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Chemical, or Physics Engineering
5–10 years of experience in MEP / HVAC design engineering
Experience contributing to large-scale design-build projects ($1M+)
Strong ability to translate theory into practical, buildable solutions
Comfortable engaging directly with clients, contractors, and stakeholders
Experience reviewing shop drawings and adapting designs in the field
Familiarity with permitting and regulatory requirements
Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit, or similar tools
Preferred
Experience in energy efficiency, sustainability, or decarbonization
On-site construction or field coordination experience
Working knowledge of electrical engineering principles
