Responsibilities

Coordinate news updates around the day's biggest stories by leveraging CNN's massive reach and presence around the world

Work closely with writers to deepen our breaking news storytelling with comprehensive reporting

Collaborate with editors to update existing breaking news stories and organize story coverage, including handling visual and video elements

Create high visibility pieces of content that provide valuable and necessary information for our global audiences

Partner with teams across the network to make sure every update you put out has been vetted and is publishable

This position may require working weekends if major news breaks

Qualification

News JudgmentCopy-EditingDigital WritingMedia IncorporationOrganizational SkillsEffective Communication

Required

Bachelor's degree in Journalism or English highly preferred

4 + years of relevant work experience; digital writing experience preferred

Strong news judgment and copy-editing skills

Ability to switch gears between several different news events on a given day

Ability to write quickly and follow our style and standards of news reporting

Ability to incorporate media into written content (photos, videos, tweets, etc.)

Ability to adapt to changing protocols for publishing

Ability to communicate effectively and have strong organizational skills
