Responsibilities
Design, implement and manage global processes for the accounting of Ads products, including: revenue, cost of sales, contra-revenue accruals, sales allowance, deferred revenue, operating expenses and the related balance sheet reconciliations
Perform month-end close processes, including agreement review, processing payments, and preparing/posting journal entries
Partner with internal teams and engineering and business partners to define, establish and implement accounting systems, processes and procedures. Review processes and implement controls to ensure mitigated risk for Google
Identify opportunities and implement programs to centralize, eliminate, automate or outsource activities. Work with providers to extend workforce established or mature processes and manage ongoing activities
Work through accounting implications to support product launches and changes in business operations. Provide controllership guidance to Sales, Product, Engineering, Financial Planning and Analysis (FP&A) and other cross-functional teams
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance, or equivalent practical experience
7 years of experience in accounting or a related function, or 5 years with an advanced degree in accounting, business, or finance
Experience in Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP), with a focus on Revenue (ASC 606) Accounting in a public accounting or multinational company setting
Preferred
Experience in creating accounting memos, process documentation and presentations
Knowledge of SQL and automation
Advanced knowledge in the interpretation and application of accounting principles and practices
Ability to have a collaborative style and work with cross-functional and international teams
Ability to understand and present data
Excellent business acumen skills, with the ability to navigate ambiguity
