Responsibilities

Manage and act as lead engineer on projects related to electrical transmission system planning studies to determine short- and long-range transmission requirements, interconnections, generation additions, and retirements
Supervise work of direct reports assigned to tasks, and will be expected to regularly self-perform tasks, as needed
Identify, qualify, and develop new clients, as well as nurture existing client relationships, within target organizations
Build effective and collaborative relationships with the key decision-makers within the target organizations
Conduct face-to-face meetings with prospective clients
Participate in professional organizations and informal networks to develop and obtain prospects, as well as utilize Excel’s contact database to identify and research prospects
Understand the short and long-term needs and challenges of targets, as well as how Excel’s services can solve their problems, improve their competitive position, and move their business forward

Required

B.S. in Electrical Engineering from an ABET accredited institute
A minimum of 5 years of relevant experience is required
Proficiency applying a variety of transmission planning concepts, practices and procedures
Ability to work with power system analysis software products, such as: PSSe/CAPE/PSAT/TSAT/PSLF
Ability to perform Steady State, Dynamic Stability Simulation, Voltage Stability Simulation
Ability to work independently, relying on experience and judgment to perform a variety of complex tasks, calculations, and procedures
Ability to apply deterministic and probabilistic reliability criteria, as appropriate
Effective written and verbal skills
Effective interpersonal skills
Ability to work collaboratively with individuals at all levels in the organization in a team environment
Supervisory experience

Preferred

Concentration in power engineering preferred
Professional Engineer (PE) licensure or ability to obtain strongly preferred
