Responsibilities
Support failure analysis activities for electromechanical assemblies with basic failure confirmation & recreation, teardown inspections, documentation while paired with critical thinking to determine failure mechanisms
Utilizing basic and analytical tools covering various analysis techniques. Examples include hand tools, logging DMM, grinder & polishers, precision diamond saws, 2D Xray systems, and elemental identification tools
Documenting the steps through sample inspections, replication tests, and teardowns. Examples including use of Word, Excel, project tracking systems such as Jira, visual & optical image capture
Qualification
Required
Degree in Electrical, Mechanical, Mechatronics or equivalent relevant experience
1 year of hands-on experience working in an analytical lab, as an automotive technician, or similar highlighting dexterous ability and problem-solving skills
Familiarity with deconstructing electrical of electromechanical assemblies to their subcomponents, while being able to identify types of sub-components of an assembly
Capability to fully dissemble and reassemble electromechanical assemblies maintaining functionality and form of original state
Demonstrate understanding of automotive electromechanical assemblies and their theories of operation
Experience with advanced tools typically involved in electromechanical failure analysis such as oscilloscopes, CAN/LIN tools, tensile testing systems, pressure/leak testers, and machine shop equipment
