Responsibilities
Manage the structural design of our commercial building projects
Design and analyze structural systems using wood, concrete, steel, masonry, and light gauge steel
Prepare detailed structural drawings, specifications, and calculations
Interface directly with architects, developers, and other project stakeholders
Collaborate with internal project teams and coordinate multi-disciplinary efforts
Work under the guidance of one of our senior engineers
Conduct site visits for construction observations across the United States (optional)
Opportunity for client meetings and project coordination travel
Review and approve shop drawings submittals and RFIs during construction
Ensure compliance with building codes including AISC, ACI, IBC, NDS, and ASCE standards
Qualification
Required
Master's degree in Civil Engineering with Structural emphasis or Architectural Engineering
3 to 7 years of experience in structural engineering related to building design and construction
Professional Engineer (PE) license or the ability to obtain a license within one year
Excellent knowledge of relevant building codes: AISC, ACI, IBC, NDS, and ASCE
Experience with multi-story commercial building design
Strong project management and organizational skills
Excellent written and verbal communication skills for client interaction
Ability to work effectively with internal teams and external stakeholders
Proficiency in multiple structural analysis platforms (ETABS, SAFE, RISA, RAM, Enercalc)
Preferred
Experience with high-rise commercial building design (15+ stories)
Experience working directly with developers and architectural firms
Ability to work with Revit
Conduct site visits for construction observations across the United States
