Instrumentation and Control Engineer

CT19 is a fast-growing advanced nuclear energy company seeking an experienced Instrumentation & Controls (I&C) Engineer to play a key role in the design and deployment of next-generation reactor technologies. The I&C Engineer will lead the design, specification, integration, and testing of advanced instrumentation and control systems within a highly technical and regulated environment.

Responsibilities

Design, specify, and test I&C systems, including PLCs, DCS, and SCADA
Develop control system architectures, wiring diagrams, and functional specifications
Integrate I&C systems with electrical, mechanical, and safety systems
Perform Failure Modes and Effects Analysis (FMEA) and I&C-related risk assessments
Support commissioning, troubleshooting, validation, and system upgrades
Collaborate with cross-functional engineering teams to meet safety and regulatory standards
Develop and maintain technical documentation, procedures, and reports

Required

Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Control Systems, Nuclear Engineering, or a related field
10+ years of experience (or M.S. with 8+ years) in I&C system design and implementation (nuclear, energy, aerospace, or other highly regulated industries preferred)
Strong proficiency in PLC programming, control logic development, and instrumentation selection
Working knowledge of IEEE, ISA, NRC, and related I&C standards
Familiarity with industrial control system cybersecurity best practices
Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills

Preferred

Experience with project and contract management is a plus
Professional Engineer (PE) license or progress toward licensure preferred
