VP Corporate Development and Public Affairs
Freedom First Credit Union is seeking a Vice President of Corporate Development and Public Affairs, a senior strategic leader responsible for driving sustainable balance sheet growth through corporate relationships and advocacy. Responsibilities
Establish and expand business banking relationships with employers of 250+ employees, focusing on significant deposit acquisition and overall balance sheet growth
Strengthen relationships with current large employers to increase product penetration and account balances
Utilize the credit union’s capabilities in commercial, consumer, and impact banking to engage key decision-makers and deliver tailored financial solutions
Act as the initial point of contact for new corporate partners, ensuring seamless integration with internal subject matter experts until permanent relationship managers are assigned
Represent the credit union with chambers of commerce and economic development organizations to identify and pursue strategic opportunities
Coordinate with leadership to ensure strong credit union presence at high-value business development events
Represent the credit union in legislative and regulatory forums, promoting policies that support growth and member benefits
Maintain and strengthen relationships with local, state, and federal officials, as well as industry associations
Serve as the primary point of contact for state and national trade associations, ensuring alignment on advocacy priorities
Deliver a comprehensive monthly report detailing new corporate development business activities, employer pipeline, and partnership outcomes
Provide the CEO with a monthly update on legislative developments, advocacy initiatives, and emerging threats or opportunities impacting the credit union or the industry
Qualification
Required
Eight to ten years of similar or related experience
A bachelor's degree, or achievement of formal certifications recognized in the industry as equivalent to a bachelor's degree (e.g., information technology certifications in lieu of a degree)
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Public speaking to include presenting information, leading meetings and speaking at conferences
Skill and ability to use and operate a keyboard, computer, calculator, fax machine, copier, telephone
Skill and ability to read and understand financial statements, contracts, applications, computer printouts, manuals, and other related materials
Must have the skill and ability to use Microsoft Word and Excel and loan application software
Must comply with government and other regulations affecting the credit union industry including, but not limited to, OFAC and the Bank Secrecy Act
