Responsibilities

Regularly provides technical guidance and direction to support the business and its technical teams, contractors, and vendors
Be a hands-on coding tech lead capable of developing secure and high-quality production code, performs reviews, and debugs code written by others
Identifies opportunities to eliminate or automate remediation of recurring issues to improve overall operational stability of software applications and systems
Drives decisions that influence the product design, application functionality, and technical operations and processes
Serves as a function-wide subject matter expert in one or more areas of focus
Actively contributes to the engineering community as an advocate of firmwide frameworks, tools, and practices of the Software Development Life Cycle
Influences peers and project decision-makers to consider the use and application of leading-edge technologies
Adds to the team culture of diversity, opportunity, inclusion, and respect

Required

Formal training or certification on software engineering concepts and 7+ years applied experience
Hands-on practical experience delivering system design, application development, testing, and operational stability
Advanced knowledge in Java and Spring Boot
Advanced knowledge in relational databases
Proficiency in automation and continuous delivery methods
Proficient in all aspects of the Software Development Life Cycle, software engineering principles, design patterns, and best practices
Advanced knowledge of software applications and technical processes with considerable in-depth knowledge in one or more technical disciplines (e.g., cloud, artificial intelligence, machine learning, mobile, etc.)
Ability to tackle design and functionality problems independently with little to no oversight
Ability to collaborate with diverse technical, cross-functional, product development, and operations teams to develop comprehensive project timelines

Preferred

10+ years of experience in Java Development
Strong knowledge of financial industry concepts, with particular emphasis on trade processing and settlement operations
Practical experience with database technologies such as DB2, Oracle, and MongoDB
Demonstrated experience in overseeing client-facing applications and effectively managing stakeholder expectations and commitments
