Responsibilities
Upgrade and maintain the Embedded Linux platform (Yocto & Ubuntu) on NXP i.MX (e.g., i.MX VII) hardware
Design and deliver new product features, including secure IoT connectivity
Improve automated test coverage (unit/integration) and reliability across the embedded stack
Contribute C-language code in kernel/user space; diagnose and resolve device/application issues
Develop Python scripts to support production tools and manufacturing workflows
Collaborate with engineering leadership to ensure compliance with software controls and quality systems
Qualification
Required
7–10 years of hands-on embedded systems experience, with deep Embedded Linux and Linux kernel fundamentals
Strong C programming skills for embedded targets
Practical experience with Yocto, Ubuntu, and NXP i.MX platforms
Exposure to networking/remote access for connected devices (VNC-style stacks or similar a plus)
Track record building or enhancing automated test suites
Ability to thrive in a small, agile team—senior enough to lead, humble enough to collaborate
Background in medical/regulated product development or strong willingness to follow formal controls
Preferred
Experience integrating wireless protocols and secure device connectivity
Prior start-up/scale-up experience
Familiarity with production support tooling and remote access technologies
