Education and Programming Coordinator

The Art Complex Museum, located in Duxbury, Massachusetts, is seeking an Education and Programming Coordinator to enhance their educational and public programs. Responsibilities

Develop and manage a comprehensive slate of educational and public programs that align with ACM’s mission, exhibitions, and community interests
Collaborate with artists, educators, and partner organizations to design creative learning experiences rooted in the museum’s permanent collection and rotating exhibitions
Organize programs such as hands-on workshops, artist talks, interactive family days, and events that connect art-making with cultural appreciation
Serve as the primary liaison among local schools, teachers, and community groups, ensuring that programs align with the Massachusetts K–12 curriculum frameworks
Oversee teaching artists, instructors, and volunteers, while nurturing an inclusive and collaborative environment
Manage program budgets, track participation, evaluate program outcomes, and prepare reports for the Executive Director
Contribute to outreach efforts by collaborating with the communications team to market programs and share stories of impact
Stay informed about trends in museum education and visitor engagement, introducing innovative ideas to keep the museum’s programming relevant and inspiring
Serve on the Weekend Team, working one weekend each month. Additional nights and weekends may be required from time to time

Required

Bachelor's degree required
Minimum of 3–5 years of experience in museum education, public programming, or community arts setting
Strong understanding of art interpretation and ability to make visual art accessible to diverse audiences
Excellent organizational and multitasking skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and prioritize multiple tasks
Enthusiasm and experience in public speaking, collaboration, and relationships building with the community
Positive, detail-oriented, and adaptable with a passion for the arts and education
Familiarity with Massachusetts school systems and experience working with school district administrators and educators, developing standards-based programming
Comfortable using technology for program development, communication, and audience outreach

Preferred

advanced degree in Education, Art History, Museum Studies, or related field
