Responsibilities

Coordinating all internal and external communications and outreach efforts specific to the Office of Aeronautics
Leading the development and implementation of a comprehensive Aeronautics Strategic Communications Plan
Serving as the primary liaison for communications with internal and external partners, including MnDOT divisions, other state agencies, the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA), airport sponsors and staff, consultants, aviation stakeholders, and the public

Required

Three years of professional communications experience demonstrating:
Experience managing strategic communications plans and outreach initiatives, and
Experience in creating and implementing digital media campaigns, including managing social media platforms and maintaining accessibility standards (e.g., ADA compliance), and
Experience interpreting and communicating regulatory requirements across multiple communication media platforms, and
Experience engaging with diverse communities or audiences to improve access to information or services
A Bachelor's or Master's degree in Communications, Journalism or a closely related field substitutes for one year of professional communications experience
Successful candidate must pass past-employer reference checks and criminal history check

Preferred

Communications experience in a government, transportation, or aviation-related setting
Experience in developing survey questions and using online survey tools such as Formstack and Microsoft Forms
Proficiency in designing and editing content using Adobe Creative Cloud tools (Acrobat Pro, InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator) and modern photo editing platforms such as Adobe Lightroom, Affinity Photo, and Canva
