Nextera Search is a Financial Services Firm based in New York City, seeking an experienced professional to join their team as Vice President of Compensation. The role involves leading the management of the client billing lifecycle, overseeing compensation processing, and partnering with leadership to develop new pricing strategies and compensation models.

Responsibilities

Lead end-to-end management of the client billing lifecycle, ensuring accurate, timely invoicing, collections, and fee calculations
Direct quarterly Investment Advisory fee billing, including management of complex exceptions, root-cause analysis, and continuous process enhancements
Oversee receivables management, payment application, and reconciliation with third-party custodians to maximize collections and accelerate issue resolution
Partner with the Controller’s team during month-end close to ensure accurate revenue recognition and balance sheet reconciliations
Collaborate with Private Wealth leadership to develop and implement new pricing strategies
Own ad hoc reporting, special projects, and analytical initiatives to deliver actionable insights to senior leadership
Oversee monthly compensation processing for production-based Private Wealth teams, ensuring accuracy, consistency, and operational excellence
Lead compensation expense close activities, perform detailed P&L variance analysis, and reconcile related balance sheet accounts
Partner with Private Wealth leadership to design and roll out new compensation models
Deliver customized, data-driven analyses to support executive decision-making and evolving business priorities
Perform other duties, as needed

Required

Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related discipline
8–12 years of professional experience in accounting, financial reporting, client billing, sales compensation, or financial analysis, ideally within private wealth or asset management
Demonstrated success in leading change management efforts and driving process improvement initiatives
Proven ability to lead, motivate, and align multiple teams around a common strategic vision
Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint
Strong communication, organizational, and analytical problem-solving skills
Ability to perform effectively in a fast-paced, deadline-oriented environment while managing competing priorities
