Quality Engineering Technician

Responsibilities
Support Quality Department personnel by processing quality department documentation, updating and maintaining data, gauge calibration, and conducting studies and testing as requested
Support all Quality goals especially scrap reduction efforts
A Quality Technician is responsible for establishing requirements which meet the plants monitoring, inspection, and propose measures to correct or improve a company's final products and processes to meet established quality standards
Their duties include preparing and implementing quality assurance gauge calibration, policies and procedures and perform routine inspections and quality tests
They identify and resolve workflow and production issues and ensure that standards and safety regulations at the company are observed
You will investigate and create corrective and preventive actions, including root cause analysis, failure mode and effects analysis and control of nonconforming material
You will coordinate and ensure compliance with relevant quality standards, such as ISO 9001, IATF 16949 and other industry standards
You will perform audits of processes and systems to identify areas for improvement and ensure adherence to quality standards
Maintain accurate records of compliance activities, audit findings, and corrective actions taken
You will coordinate aspects of PPAP’s including capability studies, GR&R’s, data analysis, and all other documentation
You will assist with Quality Lab testing as needed. Collect and ship raw material samples as needed
Conduct process audits as assigned
Complete electrical testing
Help manage any quarantine non-conforming material and create non-conforming material tag
Help create and implement quality control programs and procedures to enhance product quality and compliance
Must be capable of using and programing various measuring equipment such as calipers, micrometers, vision system and CMM
Help with training of Quality employees (and others, if needed)
Other duties as assigned by supervisor
Qualification
Required
Associates Degree from an accredited institution OR three year's experience in a Manufacturing environment
Experience and proficient with Microsoft Excel and Word and ability to learn new software
Previous experience with AIAG's APQP and core AIAG core Quality Tools
Experience with and ability to read and interpret mechanical & electrical drawings, and government specifications
Excellent math skills, conversions from English to metric and decimals to fractions on part specifications
Proficient use of various measuring tools such as gages, calipers, micrometers, vision system and CMM
Must be able to interpret blue prints and specifications and standards such as UL/CSA
