New Business Development - Territory Manager

They are seeking a driven New Business Development / Territory Manager to fuel growth across Delaware and Maryland, focusing on building relationships and expanding market presence. The role involves prospecting new customers, strengthening existing relationships, and collaborating with internal teams to achieve sales goals.

Responsibilities

Open New Doors: Prospect, qualify, and onboard new customers in hardware, garden, landscape, municipal, and regional retail markets
Grow the Base: Strengthen relationships with smaller existing customers — and help them scale through creative programs and merchandising
Spot Opportunities: Research, plan, and present tailored solutions that boost retailer visibility and sell-through
Bring Products to Life: Showcase seasonal assortments, in-store displays, and promotional programs that inspire sales
Be the Face of Arett: Represent us at major trade events, including our Open House, Summer Marketplace, Pottery Showcase, and Good Tidings Showroom
Collaborate to Win: Partner with internal teams to streamline onboarding, resolve issues, and deliver top-tier service
Drive Strategy & Results: Track trends, outsmart competitors, and build a strategy that exceeds sales goals year after year

Qualification

Required

5+ years of successful field sales or new business development experience
Background in distribution, manufacturing, or consumer goods (lawn & garden or seasonal preferred)
A self-starter mindset with a competitive drive and strong organizational habits
Excellent presentation, negotiation, and relationship-building skills
Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook, and confidence learning new systems quickly
A valid driver's license, insurance, and reliable transportation — this role takes you on the road!
Outside sales: 5 years (Required)
Account management: 5 years (Required)
Microsoft Office: 5 years (Required)
Seasonal products: 3 years (Required)
