Responsibilities
Create, update, and maintain 2D and 3D drawings using AutoCAD and PTC Creo
Model mechanical parts and assemblies in PTC Creo and generate customer-ready drawing packages
Interpret engineering design intent, functional requirements, and manufacturing/inspection needs
Apply ASME drawing standards, including ASME Y14.100, Y14.5, and Y14.41
Collaborate with engineering, manufacturing, quality, and supply chain teams to resolve design questions and implement ECOs/ECNs
Manage drawing and model revisions, releases, and configuration control using a PLM system (Teamcenter)
Perform self-checks and peer reviews to ensure drawing accuracy, completeness, and standards compliance
Support change control activities by updating drawings and CAD models as required
Prepare supplier-ready documentation for manufacturing and inspection
Track progress, meet drawing release schedules, and escalate design or manufacturability concerns when needed
Qualification
Required
4+ years of CAD design/drafting experience in a mechanical, manufacturing, or aerospace environment (5–7 years preferred)
Proficiency in AutoCAD and PTC Creo for parts and assemblies
Hands-on experience with PLM/EDM systems for drawing and model revision control and release workflows
Strong working knowledge of ASME drawing standards and GD&T
Experience with MBD, DFM, DFA, DFMEA, and PFMEA
Solid understanding of manufacturing processes, tolerancing, and assembly considerations
Experience reviewing mechanical and assembly drawings for quality and accuracy
Proficiency with Visio Pro, Adobe Acrobat, and Microsoft Office
Strong attention to detail, organization skills, and ability to manage multiple priorities
Clear communication skills and ability to collaborate across cross-functional teams
Preferred
Aerospace industry experience (OEM or Tier 1 supplier)
Experience with complex or large CAD assemblies
Background in sheet metal, composites, machined parts, or high-tolerance components
Familiarity with additional CAD or PLM tools such as CATIA, NX, SolidWorks, or Windchill
