Responsibilities
Perform material characterization and assessment using a variety of techniques including DSC, TGA, FTIR to support medical device project teams with various Materials Science needs
Partner with other scientists and project teams to define test plans
Work in a dynamic team environment and have strong interpersonal skills
Conduct hands-on laboratory analysis and testing
Document experiments in a highly regulated environment in an electronic notebook system
Knowledge of technical concepts and principles underlying Materials Science techniques
Analyze test results and draft technical reports
Qualification
Required
Experience working with various techniques such as DSC, TGA, FTIR, and SEM
Perform material characterization and assessment using a variety of techniques including DSC, TGA, FTIR to support medical device project teams with various Materials Science needs
Partner with other scientists and project teams to define test plans
Work in a dynamic team environment and have strong interpersonal skills
Conduct hands-on laboratory analysis and testing
Document experiments in a highly regulated environment in an electronic notebook system
Knowledge of technical concepts and principles underlying Materials Science techniques
Analyze test results and draft technical reports
Possess ability to apply chemistry/materials education and experience in fast-moving laboratory
Willingness to be hands on in a science laboratory
Will receive work direction and prioritization from supervisor and/or other S&T scientists
Possess strong attention to detail and excellent problem-solving skills
Strong technical writing skills
Ability to work in fast-moving environment where priorities frequently change
Experience with common materials characterization techniques
Ability to perform multiple assignments concurrently and meet required deadlines
Bachelors degree in materials science, chemistry or closely related degree with 1-3 years demonstrated experience
Ability to operate analytical instrumentation through relevant industry experience
Experience documenting laboratory work in electronic/paper notebook system according to GMP guidelines
Preferred
Experience with polymer characterization and understanding of structure/property relationships
Working knowledge of Trios, Omnic software system and Labvantage ELN documentation system
