Electronics Test Technician

Snider-Blake is seeking a skilled Test Technician to perform a variety of electronic, mechanical, and electromechanical tests on systems, subassemblies, and components. This role ensures products meet performance specifications and helps identify causes of failure, conducting tests both in-house and at customer sites.

Responsibilities

Reads test schedule, work orders, test manuals, performance specifications, wiring diagrams, and schematics to determine testing procedure and equipment to be used
Tests functional performance of systems, subassemblies, and parts under specified environmental conditions such as temperature change, vibration, pressure, and humidity
Calibrates test instruments according to specifications
Connects unit to be tested to test equipment such as signal generator, frequency meter, DC power supply or spectrum analyzer
Reads dials or digital displays that indicate electronic characteristics such as voltage, frequency, distortion, inductance, and capacitance
Compares results with specifications and records test data or plots test results on graph
Analyzes test results on defective units to determine cause of failure
Replaces defective wiring and components or records defects on tag attached to unit and returns unit to production department for repair
Confers with engineers, technicians, production personnel, and others regarding testing procedures and results and to resolve problems
Verifies dimensions of pins, shafts, and other mechanical parts
Devises test equipment setup to evaluate performance and operation of non-standard or customer returned units
Provides active feedback on how to improve the product / service based on field experience and working with the equipment. Part of this feedback is raising ECNs proactively to create a continuous improvement cycle

Required

Associate's degree (A. A.) or equivalent from two-year college or technical school; or 2 yrs technical training / experience (i.e. trade school, military, or other employment in electronics field)
Skilled at using Microsoft Suite and test equipment firmware
Ability to work overtime if needed
