Senior Structural Analysis Engineer

The Boeing Company is seeking a Senior Structural Analysis Engineer to join their F/A-18 Structural Analysis team in Hazelwood, MO. Responsibilities

Conduct stress analyses of aircraft primary structures using well defined analysis tools
Verification of structural integrity by using analytical methods, finite element models/simulations and other analysis tools to develop and maintain the structural environment, characteristics and performance
Supports in-service products by investigating failures and analyzing improvements
Development of test plans and configurations, support test execution and analyses/reports to validate systems and components meet requirements and specifications
Support Configuration Control Board and Engineering Review Board as a Strength Engineering Lead
Provide leadership and technical oversight to other Structural Analysis Engineers
Support on-going supplier and customer activities providing real-time support
Works under minimal direction

Required

Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering (with a focus on Mechanical, Civil, Aerospace Aeronautical or Material Sciences)
9+ years' experience in structural analysis (Level 4)
9+ years' experience with building finite element models. Including Fasteners (CELAS, CBUSH, Rutman, etc), Bonded joints, bonded structure that includes honeycomb core, laminate composite details and assemblies, and details FEMs using P-element (Stress Check, Mechanica) solvers
Experience with structural design principles for aircraft primary structure (e.g., fatigue, damage tolerance, corrosion, stress analysis, statics, materials strength, material characteristics, and repair techniques)
Experience analyzing fastened, and bonded joints with metallic and composite details
Experience designing and sizing repairs for primary flight structures
Experience with comprehensive detail documentation and clear communication of complex technical details
Experience in role that required leadership in structural analysis
Experience providing detailed engineering work and schedule estimates for complex projects
Ability and willingness to travel 20% of the time domestically and internationally

Preferred

14 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience (Level 5)
Experience in post-production systems with emphasis in military aircraft sustainment, repairs, and modification programs
F/A-18 experience
