Private Equity Associate
EGIS Careers is seeking a Director of Finance for a growing media business within a family office-backed portfolio. This high-impact role involves driving financial strategy, supporting growth initiatives, and overseeing financial operations in a dynamic environment.
Responsibilities
Partner with senior management and ownership on financial strategy, capital allocation, and long-term planning
Support corporate strategy initiatives including growth investments, new business lines, partnerships, and M&A
Prepare and present financial analyses and recommendations to executives and family office stakeholders
Own budgeting, forecasting, and long-range planning processes
Build and maintain sophisticated financial models to support strategic decision-making
Analyze business performance, KPIs, and unit economics across media revenue streams
Oversee monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reporting
Ensure accuracy, timeliness, and transparency of financial statements
Implement and improve financial processes, controls, and reporting infrastructure as the company scales
Act as a key liaison between the company and the family office
Work cross-functionally with content, sales, operations, and technology teams
Support external relationships including auditors, advisors, and banking partners as needed
Qualification
Required
Investment banking experience within a coverage group (e.g., Media, TMT, Consumer, Industrials) at a top-tier investment bank
Strong preference for candidates currently at the Associate level
Experience with financial modeling, valuation, transaction execution, and strategic analysis
Outstanding academic pedigree
Bachelor's degree from a top university; Ideal candidate is pre-MBA
Exceptional financial modeling and analytical capabilities
Ability to translate complex financial concepts into clear, actionable insights
Strong judgment, attention to detail, and ownership mindset
Comfortable operating in a lean, fast-moving environment
Entrepreneurial, proactive, and solutions-oriented
Interested in moving from advisory work into a hands-on operating role
Strong communication skills and executive presence
Preferred
Prior exposure to media, digital content, or adjacent industries is a plus but not required
