Responsibilities
Financial Reporting & Analysis: Regularly review financial results, advise departments on meeting budget goals, and prepare monthly financial statements for the board
Strategic Leadership: Serve on the Executive Team and partner with the Finance Committee and CEO to develop financial strategies and forecasts
Process Improvement: Quickly assess and improve financial processes, overseeing all revenue streams, including cash, credit cards, PayPal, Venmo, and stock donations
Compliance & Oversight: Ensure compliance with nonprofit accounting standards and manage audit preparation and internal control policies
Team Management: Oversee the Accounting Manager and other finance department staff and vendors
Qualification
Required
Solid background in nonprofit accounting
Proactive problem-solver
Critical thinker
Experience in financial reporting and analysis
Ability to advise departments on meeting budget goals
Experience preparing monthly financial statements for the board
Experience serving on an Executive Team
Ability to partner with Finance Committee and CEO to develop financial strategies and forecasts
Experience in process improvement and overseeing revenue streams
Knowledge of compliance with nonprofit accounting standards
Experience managing audit preparation and internal control policies
Experience overseeing accounting staff and vendors
