Aquatics Facility Supervisor

NEOGOV is seeking an Aquatics Facility Supervisor to oversee the operations and maintenance of aquatic facilities in the City of Fort Myers. The role includes supervising staff, developing aquatic programs, and ensuring safety standards are met for patrons using the pool facilities.

Responsibilities

Plan, schedule, direct, and supervise the work of aquatics staff who are responsible for providing pool safety and recreational services; track time and attendance, provide and/or coordinate training; monitor performance; responsible for maintaining accurate records of required certifications and ensuring all certifications of aquatics staff are kept current
Develop, prepare and implement pool activities and programs; schedule use of pool facilities for activities and programs; ensure aquatic activities meet local needs
Market, advertise, and budget for events and programs
Provide community training with respect to lifeguard training, community C.P.R, and first aid
Provide training for lifeguards and swim instructors to ensure readiness for any emergency
Prepare and maintain revenue and attendance reports to track revenue and facility usage
Direct and participate in the maintenance of the aquatic facility; monitor pool water chemistry; inspect and observe the facility to ensure maintenance of safety standards, sanitary conditions and orderly conduct; ensure chemicals, equipment and materials are properly handled and safely stored when not in use. Perform minor maintenance of pumps, water lines, valves, heaters, etc
Participate in annual budget preparation; responsible for maintaining budget
Maintain accurate written records as required
May be required to operate a motor vehicle in performance of assigned tasks
May participate in lifeguard duties when necessary due to shortage of staff
Performs other duties as assigned
This position requires regular and reliable attendance and the employee's physical presence at the workplace

Required

Associate's degree from an accredited institution in recreation, sports administration, physical education, business or public administration
Three (3) years of professional experience in aquatics facility management including staff supervision, and aquatics programming
Mandatory Drug/Alcohol Testing required
Require special licenses and/or certifications for Lifeguard Instructor and Instructor Trainer, Pool Operator
A valid Florida Driver's License with an acceptable driving record required
Requires a valid Standard First Aid Certification
Requires a valid Water Safety Instructor Certification; or equivalent swim instructor certification through an approved Educational Association
Requires a valid AED Certification
When assigned to working with Youth, must meet the Department of Children and Families (DCF) requirements and inspections
