1+ years expNEOGOV is looking for an Equipment Operator to join the City of San Antonio's Public Works Operations. This role involves operating light to heavy equipment for maintenance and construction of public properties, while also performing various labor tasks.

Responsibilities
Operates a 10 cy or less dump trucks to and from work locations, construction sites, etc
Operates various types of road construction equipment such as skid loader, flat wheel roller, pneumatic roller sweepers, and oil distributors
Performs minor maintenance and service checks on equipment
Performs unskilled and semi-skilled labor work related to various maintenance and construction activities such as; pot-hole repair, base and pavement repair, and street maintenance
Performs minor maintenance and service checks on equipment
Performs unskilled and semi-skilled labor work related to various maintenance and construction activities
May prepare a daily log of activities
Cleans and removes debris from streets, drainage, ditches, and other areas, frequently lifting materials weighing up to 50 pounds
Removes brush and trash from drainage inlets
Transports tools and equipment to and from work sites
May assist in the placement of barricades, signs, flashers, and safety cones
Performs related duties and fulfills responsibilities as required
Qualification
Required
Formal or informal education or training which ensures the ability to read and write at a level necessary for successful job performance
One (1) year of experience operating light, medium, or heavy equipment or completion of an SA: Ready to Work CDL training program
Must obtain a Valid Texas Commercial Class 'B' Driver's License plus all required endorsements within six (6) months of employment
Preferred
Class 'A' or Class 'B' Commercial Driver's License
Three (3) + years' experience in all aspects of street construction / reconstruction
Three (3) + years' experience with hot and/or cold mix asphalt placement
Three (3) + years' experience repairing potholes with patch truck
Three (3) + years' experience operating medium to heavy equipment (i.e. front-end loader, skid loader, double drum roller, pneumatic roller, etc.)
