NEOGOV is seeking a Pump Maintenance Mechanic to perform responsible technical and skilled work in the operation, maintenance, and repair of machinery and equipment in sewer pumping stations and wastewater treatment plants. The role involves maintaining and repairing pumps, motors, and hydraulic systems, as well as participating in preventative maintenance inspections and troubleshooting equipment failures.

Responsibilities

Maintains and repairs pumps, motors and hydraulic systems and other apparatus and equipment
Plans and participates in regular preventative maintenance inspections such as checking and lubricating bearings, gear boxes, checking and replacing filters, cleaning out wet wells, packing pumps, mowing and other preventative maintenance activities
Assists with troubleshooting, diagnosing and repairing parts or equipment due to failure
Dismantles and overhauls various equipment; cleans, replaces and repairs gauges, grit collectors, grinders, pumps, diffusers, engines, and blowers
Rebuilds and overhauls defective parts and machinery, instrumentation and equipment; maintains and services electrical generators for emergency power sources during outages
Participates in ground, lawn and facility maintenance
Performs related duties as required

Required

High School diploma or GED
Five to seven years of experience in pump repair
Ability to obtain Grade I WWC within one year of employment
A valid North Carolina Commercial Driver's License class B or the ability to obtain within 18 months of hire
Tanker endorsement or the ability to obtain with the Commercial Driver's License may also be required
