Responsibilities
Ensure reliability, performance, and security of the GitLab platform
Design and maintain scalable, highly available GitLab architectures
Implement monitoring, alerting, and health metrics
Build and maintain GitLab CI/CD pipelines with security and compliance controls
Automate build, test, deployment, and platform operations
Standardize workflows to improve developer experience
Manage infrastructure with Terraform and Infrastructure as Code
Operate containerized workloads using Docker and Kubernetes (EKS or similar)
Administer Linux systems supporting the platform
Work with application teams to support GitLab adoption and best practices
Provide guidance on GitLab features, integrations, and upgrades
Support Jira and Confluence as part of the SDLC ecosystem
Ensure compliance with federal security standards (e.g., NIST 800-53)
Integrate security scanning and compliance checks into pipelines
Qualification
Required
Active Secret clearance
Hands-on experience administering GitLab in an enterprise environment
Experience building and supporting CI/CD pipelines
3+ years with AWS, Azure, or GCP
Strong Linux administration skills
Proficiency in Bash/Shell and Python
Experience with Terraform and Infrastructure as Code
Docker and Kubernetes experience
Strong communication skills
Preferred
5+ years supporting enterprise platforms or DevOps environments
Experience migrating CI/CD platforms to the cloud
Familiarity with other CI/CD tools (GitHub, Jenkins, Ansible)
Cloud certifications (AWS, Azure, GCP)
Federal government experience
