Senior System Engineer
AppCard Inc. is a technology and marketing company headquartered in Manhattan, NY, seeking a Senior System Engineer to provide first and second-line support to customers. The role involves diagnosing technical issues, advising customers, and collaborating with teams to resolve complex problems while ensuring a high-quality customer experience.
Responsibilities
Diagnose and troubleshoot technical issues, including account setup and network configuration. Ensures customers stay informed as to the status/solution of their issue
Acts as an advisor to the customer and handles complex, repeatable, or escalated cases. Creates a technical knowledge base that is internal or customer facing for better customer understanding. Provides best practices and education to ensure the customer understands the problem in order to proactively resolve potential issues in the future
Properly escalate unresolved issues to appropriate internal teams (e.g. software developers)
Performs complex product troubleshooting and remediation when needed. Works alongside the development teams to drive incident resolution for configuration, code, or other service deficiencies impacting customers
Prioritize and manage several open issues at one time
Collaborates on cross-team by working with resources from customer success, engineering groups as needed to resolve complex customer issues
Document technical knowledge in the form of notes and manuals
Maintain excellent client relationships, ensuring a first-class customer experience
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field
Strong Linux administration skills, with experience in mission-critical applications
Experience and knowledge of system performance-monitoring tools
3+ years technical support, or information technology experience
Networking knowledge: Firewalls, VPN's, TCP/IP – troubleshooting, performance tuning
Basic database knowledge (SQL querying and troubleshooting)
Proven work experience as a Technical Support Engineer, Desktop Support Engineer, IT Help Desk Technician or similar role
Excellent communication and problem-solving skills with a customer-first mindset
Highly motivated, organized, and able to handle multiple priorities effectively
