Senior Research Associate, In Vivo Biology

Responsibilities

Perform independently planned IACUC approved small animal experiments including in vivo mouse cancer models
Administer radioactive and non-radioactive drugs by multiple routes including IV, IP, SC etc. Experience with non-radioactive drug formulation is preferred
Perform independently tumor burden measurements (like using caliper and bioluminescence imaging), body weight measurements, tissue and blood collection and processing samples for ex vivo assays and biodistribution studies
Perform planned experiments independently with demonstrated competence in standard mammalian cell culture and aseptic technique
Vivarium monitoring and occasional husbandry duties (e.g. cage changing)
Assist the Manager, In Vivo Biology with experimental planning and execution
Gather, interpret and analyze data from performed research experiments
Assist with maintaining laboratory equipment (coordinating preventative maintenance and repairs as needed), ordering of reagents and laboratory supplies
Maintain laboratory reagent database, including cell lines and antibodies
Ensure that safe laboratory practices and IACUC protocols are adhered to including the use and disposal of chemicals and hazardous materials
Maintain a detailed electronic laboratory notebook: prepare and maintain detailed records, logs and summary reports of all procedures and results including graphs, data analysis, scientific calculations, and statistical analysis. Experience with MS office and Graphpad prism is desirable
Collaborate cross-functionally with colleagues in Radiochemistry and In Vitro Biology to drive translational research
Contribute to a culture of scientific excellence by keeping informed on scientific advances and emerging technologies in targeted therapies for Oncology

Required

Master's or bachelor's degree in biological sciences with a minimum of 2 years biotech or pharmaceutical company experience in Oncology product development
Minimum 3-5 years of cancer biology lab research experience in academic setting
Demonstrated experience with handling small animals and in vivo procedures
Demonstrated experience with cell culture and aseptic techniques
Demonstrated critical thinking and troubleshooting is essential
Excellent organizational, written and verbal communication skills, detail oriented and should be a self-starter
Ability to handle multiple projects, work in a highly collaborative fast-paced environment
Proactive, creative, and eager to learn and grow
Strong interpersonal and communication skills and ability to work in a team setting

Preferred

Experience in an industry (preferred) or academic lab setting, including experience in drug discovery and analysis, designing, and performing preclinical in vivo research studies
Experience with non-radioactive drug formulation and handling radioactivity is preferred
Hands-on experience with isolation and culture of primary human cells or patient-derived samples is a plus
Prior work with biologic drugs and/or radiopharmaceuticals is preferred
Experience in immunobiology or radiopharmacology is preferred
Experience with MS office and Graphpad prism is desirable
