Responsibilities

Provides support on representing the organization at different forums by representing company to tax authorities suppliers and competition at external training events and staying up to date on tax laws and compliance regulations at the state federal and global level and providing viewpoints and forecasting trends
Drives strategic initiatives for example treasury audit business strategies by collaborating with senior leadership and key stakeholders to establish develop and prioritize requirements and goals communicating and presenting the tax strategy to ensure understanding alignment and acceptance across multiple business areas and senior leadership streamlining processes and leveraging efficiencies to ensure continuous improvement identifying and reviewing system enhancement needs and developing unique solutions in partnership with technology ensuring system process enhancements meet compliance obligations potential risk mitigation and long term business strategy
Manages the preparation of federal state local and franchise tax returns and other United States reporting of operations by developing and executing plans to analyze data identifying technical issues incorporating data into tax returns supporting controls over income tax reporting accruals and payments guiding teams and leads translating taxation business accounting and financial expertise into company tax saving strategies driving strategies through audits and appeals negotiations reporting and litigation directing alternative deal structure creation to reduce tax burdens managing data extracted from the databases and analyzing and presenting tax related reports to senior management
Directs tax related processes to ensure reporting compliance by managing and implementing reporting and documentation processes overseeing tax return preparation balancing and payment processes directing the use of third party tax return preparation software reviewing analyzing signing and balancing state and local tax returns and accounts with the general ledger directing tax audit strategies and processes and partnering and consulting with internal and external stakeholders to leverage support of initiatives
Directs team and leads researching and forecasting tax and audit trends providing input on company tax saving strategies defining developing and implementing tax work processes and programs developing and presenting best practices aligning plans and processes with company goals and initiatives driving and facilitating tax related activities addressing irregularities discovered during routine reviews negotiating with state revenue departments to resolve tax filing issues developing and overseeing alternative deal structures to reduce tax burdens developing and leading reverse audit processes reviewing evaluating and determining impact of new and pending tax legislation on company and reviewing and managing training and tax related documents
Manages the implementation of tax activities and initiatives by collaborating with subject matter experts to maintain and align compliance policies with tax laws and regulations attending meetings on behalf of the tax department and representing areas of interest coordinating the reconciliation process for tax accounts managing compliance processes for the department directing forensic investigations for tax and treasury systems by developing and executing testing procedures monitoring and communicating judicial legislative and regulatory developments and aligning company tax processes with pending and existing tax law requirements
Provides overall direction by analyzing business objectives and customer needs developing communicating building support for and implementing business strategies plans and practices analyzing costs and forecasts and incorporating them into business plans determining and supporting resource requirements evaluating operational processes measuring outcomes to ensure desired results identifying and capitalizing on improvement opportunities promoting a customer environment and demonstrating adaptability and sponsoring continuous learning
Develops and implements strategies to attract and maintain a highly skilled and engaged workforce by diagnosing capability gaps recruiting selecting and developing talent supporting mentorship workforce development and succession planning and leveraging the capabilities of new and existing talent
Cultivates an environment where associates respect and adhere to company standards of integrity and ethics by integrating these values into all programs and practices developing consequences for violations or noncompliance and supporting the Open Door Policy
Develops and leverages internal and external partnerships and networks to maximize the achievement of business goals by sponsoring and leading key community outreach and involvement initiatives engaging key stakeholders in the development execution and evaluation of appropriate business plans and initiatives and supporting associate efforts in these areas

Required

Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field and 5 years' experience in accounting, income tax compliance, payroll tax, or related area OR 7 years' experience in accounting, income tax compliance, payroll tax, or related area
3 years' supervisory experience
