Responsibilities
Identify, quantify, and analyze cost factors for estimates, including production time, materials, labor, equipment, and subcontracts
Read, interpret, and analyze complex electrical construction drawings and specifications (blueprints and technical documents)
Utilize software (primarily Excel and Bluebeam) to calculate estimates and prepare takeoffs
Collaborate with engineers, project managers, and procurement to develop constructability plans and estimates
Review budgets versus actual performance with project teams and assist in drafting, estimating, and negotiating project change orders
Develop comprehensive project plans and ensure compliance with contract requirements
Travel to job sites as needed to gather information for estimates
Qualification
Required
5+ years of experience in the medium and high voltage electrical substation and transmission construction industry
Bachelor's degree in Civil/Electrical Engineering and/or Construction Management, or any combination of education and experience that demonstrates the required knowledge
Extensive knowledge of industry practices, procedures, and market trends
Proficiency in Microsoft Suite (Excel & Word) and strong critical thinking, organizational, and communication skills
Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities in parallel
Preferred
Previous hands-on electrical construction experience (medium/high voltage)
Proven ability to successfully estimate EPC (Engineer, Procure, Construct) type projects
Experience estimating related work like civil substation construction and distribution/transmission line construction
