Responsibilities
Build and manage a portfolio of clients by originating loans and other bank products (e.g., trade, deposits, FX/rates). Help to set portfolio strategy, set individual client strategies, chaperone onboarding, manage credit approvals, monitor risks, cross-sell product, and ensure effective ongoing management of NBK relationships
Oversee all aspects of individual transactions from origination to closing, including: structuring, pricing, obtaining approvals and negotiating docs
Work hands-on with the underwriters to support the preparation of credit proposals and credit reviews in accordance with the Bank’s credit policies
Prepare credit and administrative reports as required, including those for quarterly meetings of the New York Branch Credit Committee and Allowance for Loan and Lease Losses Committee
Contribute to innovation at the branch, such as developing new business products, assessing strategies and improving existing practices and processes
Manage credit risk effectively and maintain regulatory compliance. Adhere to all pertinent laws and regulations, including in regard to Anti-Money Laundering (AML), Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC), Bank Secrecy Act (BSA) and USA Patriot Act ((USAPA). Adhere existing Policies and Procedures of NBK and NYB
Successfully complete all assigned training in a timely manner, including ISO, HR, and BSA/AML/OFAC training
Maintain files consistent with internal compliance and regulatory requirements
Qualification
Required
Proven experience as a corporate relationship manager or a product expert in corporate finance, loans, leveraged finance, project finance, trade finance or similar fields
Experience at an international bank operating in the US or at a smaller domestic corporate bank is viewed favorably
A US client network and cross-bank connections are beneficial
Either credit training at a major bank or 3+ years of experience in commercial banking, including credit analysis
Strong interpersonal skills and excellent written and oral communication skills to facilitate collaboration with associates and customers globally
An undergraduate degree, ideally in finance, business administration, or a related field
Excellent computer skills including Word, Excel, PowerPoint
Familiarity with CapIQ is beneficial
