Crisis Clinician 2 (Underfill) - Mobile Crisis Response Team

Marion County Health & Human Services Crisis Center is seeking a dynamic, highly motivated master’s-level therapist to join their Mobile Crisis Response Team. The role involves providing timely, compassionate, and effective responses to individuals experiencing behavioral health crises in the community, including conducting assessments and connecting clients with appropriate resources.

Responsibilities

Provide mental health assessment, and evaluation in the community in response to dispatcher calls
Deliver brief counseling and crisis intervention as needed to stabilize individuals in crisis
Collaborate with a law enforcement partner to assess service needs promptly and determine appropriate referrals
Facilitate referrals to appropriate resources, including but not limited to the Crisis Center, Salem Hospital Emergency Department, outpatient mental health providers, local service agencies, community resources, stabilization services and support groups
Attend trainings with local law enforcement partner to stay current on certifications and information pertinent to the position
Attend weekly and monthly meetings with the mental health/law enforcement service array as needed
Willing and able to drive a motor vehicle to attend meetings and staff meetings throughout county agencies
When not responding to dispatch calls, go into the community to connect and build community partnering with other service agencies, such as the Union Gospel Mission, Simonka House, NWHS HOAP project, Senior Services, Adult and Family Services, Veteran’s programs, Jail staff, etc
Complete clinical record documentation in timely fashion
Meet performance expectations for time and billing standards
Back up the Crisis Center as needed or when law enforcement partner is not responding to calls
Perform other job duties as assigned by your supervisor

Required

Possession of a Master's degree in Psychology, Social Work, Recreational Therapy, Music Therapy, Art Therapy or a behavioral science field, or possession of a bachelor's degree in Nursing and licensed by the State of Oregon, or possession of a bachelor's degree in Occupational Therapy and licensed by the State of Oregon; OR second year graduate students waivered as QMHP's by the Oregon Health Authority
Mental Health Therapist 2 Only: In addition to the educational requirements above, the Mental Health Therapist 2 must have at least one year of full-time, post-Master's degree experience in the behavioral health field
Must possess, or obtain within 6 months of hire, Salem Hospital Privileges
Must not be excluded from participation in the federal health care programs (Medicaid, Medicare and other federally funded programs that provide health benefits); AND must not be excluded from participating in federal procurement (Federal Acquisition Regulation) and non-procurement activities (Executive Order No. 12549)
Must possess a current driver's license in the applicant's state of residence and an acceptable driving history
The finalist for this position will be required to pass a criminal history background check, including finger printing; however, conviction of a crime may not necessarily disqualify an individual for this position
This is a safety sensitive/special needs position. Final candidates selected for this position will be required to pass a pre-employment drug screen, including testing for marijuana

Preferred

Preference will be awarded to candidates who are LCSW, CSWA or eligible for LCSW
