The Bismarck Mandan Chamber EDC is seeking a dynamic and visionary Vice President of Economic Development to lead initiatives that drive business growth, workforce development, and community advancement. Responsibilities

Drive implementation of the Chamber EDC’s strategic plan for economic and workforce development
Identify emerging trends and opportunities to position Bismarck-Mandan as a competitive and attractive region for business investment
Provide leadership to Economic Development Team, guiding and developing them for success in their roles
Develop and execute programs to attract new businesses and support existing employers from small business to large business
Build strong partnerships with local, regional, and state stakeholders to advance economic growth initiatives
Collaborate with educational institutions, employers, and community organizations to address workforce challenges and create talent pipelines
Lead initiatives that enhance workforce readiness and retention
Serve as an ambassador for the Chamber EDC, representing the organization at public events, meetings, and with media
Foster relationships with government officials, business leaders, and community partners to align efforts and resources
Monitor economic indicators and provide regular reports on progress toward strategic goals
Utilize data-driven insights to inform decision-making and program development

Required

Bachelor's degree in Business, Economics, Public Administration, or related field
Minimum 5 years of experience in economic development, business development, or related leadership roles
Strong understanding of workforce development strategies and regional economic trends
Exceptional communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills
Ability to manage multiple projects and deliver results in a fast-paced environment
Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office Products (Excel, Mail, PowerPoint, etc.) and technology to advance our efforts

Preferred

A Master's Degree and/or certification as a Certified Economic Developer (CEcD) from the International Economic Development Council
