Surgery Scheduler / Clinical Secretary The Heart Center

Responsibilities

Coordinates process to schedule surgical and other procedures in operating room, physician office, sedation, and other hospital units
Manages physician schedules to support efficient practice operations
Communicates effectively via personal contact, phone and in writing with patients/ families, physicians, hospital staff, community professionals, insurance companies, etc
Efficiently and accurately uses computer for generation of reports, letters, forms and other communications/documents
Provides administrative support for clinic and educational activities of physicians, nurses or other support staff as directed
Other duties as required

Required

Must be detailed oriented with the ability to make decisions and work in a fast-paced environment
Experience working with various levels within an organization
Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written. Must be compassionate towards families experiencing stressful conditions
Experience working in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, Word) or similar software
Education: High School diploma

Preferred

Experience in surgery scheduling
Experience with and knowledge of CPT coding, ICD-9 terminology
Experience in healthcare
Experience working in an electronic medical record system (i.e. EPIC)
Minimum of 3 years of experience working in a clinical/medical environment
