Responsibilities

Voter Registration: Voter Registration staff are responsible for accurately processing and proofing electronic and paper applications in accordance with Maryland election law. Duties include sorting incoming mail, scanning, and processing documents to and from other Local Boards of Elections, verifying petition signatures, researching, and processing provisional ballots. Staff also track and process mail, file processed documents, and answer telephones. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, capable of handling high volumes of data, and committed to providing excellent customer service
Training – Trainers are responsible for preparing and conducting sessions to adequately train election judges for Early Voting and/or Election Day duties. This position requires delivering engaging and hands-on training on voting processes, the utilization of voting equipment, following chain of custody when handling election materials, and customer service expectations. In addition, employee will set-up and remove training equipment upon completion of training. The ideal candidate should possess confidence in public speaking, meticulous attention to detail, and a commitment to providing exemplary election support. This position will require that employee provide training at off-site locations as needed
Vote by Mail - The Vote by Mail staff are responsible for verification, processing, and integrity of vote by mail process. This position also encompasses ballot preparation for mailing, and in-person, over the telephone, and email customer services. Responsibilities include creating spreadsheets, inputting data, receiving, sorting, inventorying, and organizing mail-in envelope ballots. Additional tasks involve digitizing scanning and uploading documents; performing data entry, proofreading, and filing. The role also requires providing assistance with Early Voting and Election Day provisional ballots processing and preparing mail in ballots for canvass. The ideal candidate will be detail-oriented, adhere to procedures, and demonstrate a commitment to excellent customer service
Election System Information & Technology Warehouse Support and IT Clerical Assistant - The Election Information Technology (IT) Tech warehouse staff is responsible for preparing, testing, deploying, and maintaining critical election equipment. This includes staging the deployment of election equipment to voting sites. Additionally, the IT staff provides technical support for all election equipment in a help desk call center setting during Early Voting and on Election Day. Staff members are expected to travel to various locations throughout the county to assist with equipment setup and resolve technical issues during Early Voting and on Election Day. Candidates will be required to participate in loading and unloading trucks for equipment distribution to polling places. This position involves significant physical labor and requires candidates to lift up to 50 lbs. The ideal candidate possesses the ability to read and follow detailed technical procedures, strong problem-solving skills, and comfort with troubleshooting under time pressure. IT Clerical Assistant provides technical, clerical, and administrative support. The role includes maintaining records, preparing documents, tracking equipment, and organizing supplies. Additionally, the candidate will verify data reports, create necessary paperwork, and serve as a help desk agent during Early Voting and Election Day. The ideal candidate should be highly organized and able to work in a fast-paced environment. This position requires that candidate lift 50lbs
Operations Warehouse – Staff members are responsible for preparing and packing ballots and polling place supplies, which involves sorting, counting, and physically packing items to distribute to polling places. They assist with inventory management, organization, and redistribution of election materials between election cycles. They also conduct post-election inventory of returned supplies. Additionally, they help maintain the warehouse's organization and ensure that supplies are accurately labeled and stored.Transporting election-related materials to polling locations throughout the county may be requiredduring early voting or on election day. This position is physically demanding and requires the ability to lift 50 pounds. The ideal candidate is organized and detail-oriented
The Drop Box Leadis responsible for assisting with coordination of mail in ballots retrieval and transportation from ballot drop boxes, in accordance with State-mandated protocols. This role involves coordinating logistics, including team scheduling and maintaining chain-of-custody documentation from 58 mail ballot drop box locations throughout the county. The Lead serves as a point of contact for assigned teams, ensuring adherence to all election integrity standards. The ideal candidate will possess strong organizational skills
Vote Center Manager – Staff members are tasked with overseeing and managing the daily operations at an Early Voting Center. This role is required for the entire duration of Early Voting, which spans eight (8) days and includes weekends and evenings. Typical work hours extend from 5:30 AM to 10:00 PM. The Center Manager will be responsible for supervising election staff, ensuring compliance with election laws and procedures, providing excellent customer service by addressing voter inquiries, and maintaining a secure and orderly voting environment. The ideal candidate will possess strong communication skills, the ability to manage staff effectively, work efficiently in a fast-paced setting, and exhibit exceptional attention to detail. Prior experience as an election worker is preferred but not mandatory

Required

Completion of high school or High School Certificate of completion recognized in the State of Maryland
Possession and maintenance at all times of a valid Class 'C' (or equivalent) driver's license from the applicant's state of residence
Ability to occasionally lift, push and/or pull materials and/or equipment weighting up to fifty pounds
Registration as a voter in the State of Maryland
Successful completion of a pre-employment medical evaluation, which includes a physical examination and drug screening
