Responsibilities
Manage daily accounting operations, including general ledger, accounts payable, and payroll
Oversee the month-end close process, including journal entries, reconciliations, and preparation of financial statements
Prepare the organization for its first audit by establishing documentation standards, internal controls, and support schedules; review accounting entries for accuracy; and create robust templates, checklists, and working papers to support ongoing audit readiness
Build and refine scalable SOPs, streamline workflows, and ensure systems and data flows stay efficient as the business and team grows
Review variance analyses and balance sheet reconciliations for accuracy
Implement and enforce internal controls, policies, and procedures to ensure compliance with GAAP
Supervise and mentor accounting team members, providing guidance and development opportunities
Ensure compliance with federal, state and local tax and regulatory requirements
Partner cross-functionally with Operations, HR and other teams to align financial processes and strengthen day-to-day collaboration
Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency
Perform additional duties as assigned to support the accounting function
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in Accounting and CPA required
7+ years of accounting experience, including 2-3 years in a leadership or supervisory role (healthcare industry experience a plus)
Public accounting and/or Big 4 audit experience Is a strong plus
Strong knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting
Strong excel skills, proficiency in MS Office and experience with ERP/accounting systems
Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
Experience supporting audits and working with external auditors
Strong analytical and communication skills
Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities effectively
