CheckSammy is seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Senior Accountant to join their growing finance team. This role will support financial reporting, month-end close, and day-to-day accounting operations during an important transition period for the company.

Responsibilities

Maintain the accounting records in NetSuite while also working cross-functionally with the accounts receivable and payable team
Own the month-end close process, including journal entries, accruals, and reconciliations
Perform intercompany reconciliations and resolve discrepancies
Assist with compiling and preparing month-end financial statements for the management team, including variance analysis against prior period and budget
Review payroll entries and other recurring transactions for accuracy and completeness
Assist with external audits by preparing schedules, reconciliations, and documentation
Identify and implement process improvements to increase efficiency and accuracy in accounting operations
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to provide financial insights and support decision-making
Have the opportunity to grow into streamlining the consolidation process, prepare note disclosures for financial statements, and assisting with due diligence for financing

Required

Current or pending CPA designation
Experience with full-cycle accounting and bookkeeping
Ability to work cross functionally with various team members
Strong Excel skills
Experience with annual audits
Strong communication skills
Experience with NetSuite or similar accounting software
Experience with IFRS/US GAAP
Experience filing GST/PST/EHT/US Sales tax returns
