Technology Project Manager - Bond Program (25-26 SY)-Technology

Irving ISD is seeking a Technology Project Manager for its Bond Program to oversee technology projects funded by the 2023 Bond Referendum. The role involves planning, implementing, and executing IT projects while ensuring stakeholder engagement and adherence to budgets and timelines.

Responsibilities

Review construction documents, attend and actively participate in construction meetings, ensure that all IT requirements and commitments are met and in-synch with overall construction schedules and milestones
Serves as project coordinator/liaison to represent Technology with architects, engineers, technical consultants, inspectors, and contractor representatives involved construction and renovation of facilities
Coordinate and Collaborate with Architects and other design professionals, contractors, subcontractors, and project coordinators to ensure conformity with district technology requirements, time schedules, budget limitations, government requirements (e.g. eRate) and district
Review architectural drawings and submittals for conformance to District standards, construction documents, and expected performance & operational expectations
Interface with district and school administration, staff, teachers, and community representatives to coordinate all activities and to ensure that all technology requirements and expectations are met
Ensure that all technology is complaint with the latest recommendations and best practices. Ensure that projects are utilizing state-of-the-art technology and clearly document any cases (and supporting justification) in which legacy technology is being used. Coordinate with utility providers and notify them of any project requirements
Coordinate and Collaborate with Architects and other design professionals to obtain Specifications and Project Manuals for preparing bids and proposals for technology
Visit assigned job sites on a frequent and consistent basis and conduct on-site inspection of technology to ensure conformance to requirements and stakeholders’ expectations. Oversee technology projects and report on non-conformance, quality and schedule
Monitor the overall quality of work in accordance with contract documents to minimize punch lists and improve the final product
Monitor technology costs, schedules, and changes in the scope of work on assigned
Review invoices and make recommendations on payments related to technology
Coordinate the purchase, installation, and testing of all technology
Attend project meetings and other critical activities at the site, including pre-bid meetings, pre-construction meetings, progress meetings, sub-contractor coordination meetings, and other critical construction events that are related to technology
Assist in the preparation of observation reports and monthly work-in-progress summaries. Provide written and photographic documentation of significant project events and issues
Monitor technology costs, schedules, and changes in the scope of work on assigned projects
Assist design consultants and contractors in establishing substantial completion
Walk the punch list with the design professional and contractor. Schedule, coordinate, attend, and participate in project punch walks, training, and cover-up inspections
Expedite documentation and completion of punch list items. Coordinate project closeout documentation and financial closeout documentation and approvals to the district
Customer Acceptance Testing: Drive the testcase generation, testcase execution & completion, and reporting of Final Customer Acceptance Testing
Review Operations and Maintenance manuals and closeout documents to verify that they meet specified requirements
Verify that all warranties have been received and are properly executed by the District. Supervise the completion of work orders during project warranty periods
Monitor the completion of all technology items on all punch lists. Also track all warranty and latent defects
Track and maintain warranty repairs and documents. Record and report all warranty items and make final warranty checks in conjunction with Technology Services before the end of warranty periods. Perform quarterly site visits for the first year and final one-year walkthrough
Supervise the completion of technology work orders during project warranty periods

Required

Bachelor's degree in Computer Networking, Information Technology, Project Management, or equivalent work experience
Minimum of three (3) years of supervisory experience

Preferred

Certifications: Project Management Professional (PMP), Certified Associate in Project Management (CAPM), or equivalent
Project management experience ranging from start-up pilot programs to large-scale technical projects
Minimum of five (5) years of Networking and two (2) years Audio / Visual (A/V) experience
Minimum of eight (8) years of project management experience
