Design Engineer II – Control Panels
Phoenix Contact is a company specializing in electrical engineering solutions, and they are seeking a Design Engineer II for Control Panels. The role involves designing control cabinets, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards, and creating mechanical components and testing procedures.

Responsibilities
Control panel design (component selection, enclosure selection, environmental and thermal analysis, power, I/O wiring, and adherence to regulatory standards)
Designs and documents enclosure modifications and custom mechanical components
Creates quotations for control panels, including labor estimation
Specifies packaging to eliminate shipping damage
Creates assembly and mechanical drawings
Creates production electrical testing procedures and fixtures
Performs product changes (drawing, product, BOM changes)
Creates and modifies manufacturing, packaging, marking, and component drawings
Completes article, BOM, component setup and maintenance in PDM / PLM System
Coordinates design reviews between planning, manufacturing, and purchasing
Follows all corporate processes / procedures in an ISO 9001 environment
Acts as a member of project teams
Other duties as assigned
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering
Must be knowledgeable in Electrical and Mechanical Engineering
CAD experience required (AutoCAD or similar)
Experience with UL508A preferred
EPLAN or AutoCAD electrical experience preferred
3D Modeling experience preferred
Knowledge of GD&T a plus
Experience with Microsoft Office Applications (Word and Excel)
Must be able to sit for extended periods of time
Must be able to ride in a car for 6 hours at a time
Must be able to travel by air
Must be able to communicate in English (written & verbal)
Must be eligible to receive US passport
Must be able to lift 25 lbs
Regular and on-time attendance
Preferred
Experience with UL508A preferred
EPLAN or AutoCAD electrical experience preferred
3D Modeling experience preferred
Knowledge of GD&T a plus
