Responsibilities
Own the monthly, quarterly, and annual close process across multiple operating locations
Ensure accurate, timely financial statements (income statement, balance sheet, cash flow)
Deliver clear variance analysis and financial insights to leadership
Support budgeting and forecasting processes tied closely to operations
Oversee accounting in an inventory-driven distribution environment
Partner with operations to ensure accuracy around inventory valuation, costing, and controls
Identify trends, risks, and opportunities tied to margins, working capital, and throughput
Establish and maintain strong accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls
Ensure full GAAP compliance
Coordinate with external auditors and manage audits and reviews
Proactively identify and mitigate financial and operational risks
Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing accounting team (4β6 staff)
Build scalable processes that support growth
Foster accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
7+ years of progressive accounting experience, including leadership responsibility
Experience operating in a large-company environment (complex, multi-location preferred)
Strong understanding of inventory accounting within a distribution or product-driven business
Confident leader who can balance hands-on execution with strategic oversight
Excellent communication skills β able to partner across finance, operations, and leadership
Controller, Accounting manager, Senior Accountant
Preferred
CPA is not required, but it is viewed as a plus
